Ramanuj Gupta Memorial Charitable Trust was established in the year 1998 by the renowned physician of Barak Valley, Late Dr. Rahul Gupta after the unexpected demise of his eldest son, Ramanuj Gupta at a tender age. Late Dr. Rahul Gupta was not only an eminent physician but was also a philanthropic as well who yearned to establish an academic institution that could offer quality education at the higher secondary level to fulfil the aspirations and ambitions of the students and parents of Barak Valley who dreamt of a career in the fields of medical science , engineering and other distinguished fields of academics but due to lack of foundation at higher secondary level that could bear the weight of their aspirations, had to compromise with their academic dreams or move elsewhere. Thus, Late Dr. Gupta in order to fill this gap laid the foundation of Ramanuj Gupta Junior College in the year 1998 (presently Ramanuj Gupta Senior Secondary School) that offered students to avail education at higher secondary level in the Science stream. The success achieved by the collective efforts of the meritorious students and experienced teachers motivated Dr. Gupta and the Trust to offer the scope of studying Arts stream in the year 2002 and subsequently Commerce stream as well in 2007. The incredible success of Ramanuj Gupta Junior College inspired confidence to start a full - fledged school and venture in the field of secondary level academic education with a view to providing comprehensive school education upto 10+2 level and to meet the increasing demand to cater quality education at secondary level as well. This led to the establishment of Ramanuj Vidyamandir in the year 2001 which is affiliated to S.E.B.A. (Board of Secondary Education, Assam).

Dr. Rahul Gupta aspired to transform the academic map of Barak Valley. He dreamt of an institution in the field of higher education such as engineering college or a degree college to not only offer quality education in the realm of higher education but also to provide a platform to innumerable aspiring students who had to migrate elsewhere to avail the same. However, his dream of watching an adolescent turn into a graduate i.e., laying the foundation of a college didn’t materialise during his lifetime due to sudden and unfortunate demise in 2016. The Trust didn’t spare a second thought and in the year 2017, the foundation of a degree college namely Ramanuj Gupta Degree College was laid. The College offers quality education and offers students the scope to study degree courses in Science, Arts and Commerce. It gives us immense pleasure and pride to inform you that just like its sister concerns namely Ramanuj Gupta Junior College and Ramanuj Vidyamandir, Ramanuj Gupta Degree College has within a short span of time carved its own niche in the realm of higher education as well. Students of degree college have achieved various laurels such as securing University toppers rank in the Departments of English, Political Science, History, Philosophy etc.

The motive behind laying the foundation of Ramanuj Gupta Memorial Charitable Trust was to ensure that students and parents of Barak Valley need not feel deprived of availing quality education at all levels. Dr. Gupta in order to fill the void created after the sudden and tragic death of his eldest son, beloved Ramanuj Gupta took up the mission to fulfil the dreams and aspirations of parents and students of Barak Valley and create uncountable Ramanuj (ians). In this quest to materialise Late Dr. Gupta's dream, the Trust has felt the need to establish a C.B.S.E. school with a view to enabling students to face the various academic challenges that have arisen significantly post -Covid in the field of Secondary and Higher Secondary level. We have observed that there are growing challenges in 10+2 education which has been replaced with 5+3+3+4 system in accordance with the New Education Policy 2020. Besides, the parents and students have limited scope available to them which can cater to the innovative and revolutionary changes ushered in by the New Education Policy 2020 and deliver the quality education as envisioned in the N.E.P. (2020). Hence, we have taken up the noble mission once again to equip our students with the best of quality teaching and learning as per C.B.S.E. norms and help them accomplish the objectives of the New Education Policy 2020 to enable them to compete at par with the national standards. With this noble mission in mind, the Trust has decided to establish Dr.Rahul Gupta Dream School at Silchar. We have ensured that the school is equipped with the best of infrastructure such as state of the art classrooms, library and most importantly the best of human resource available to us i.e., the teachers. Our goal is to impart not only quality education but ensure comprehensive development of a child’s personality which will in turn not only enable him to face the increasing challenges of academic education but life as well and help him/her carve his own niche in this globalised world.
